PREP Master Trainers and Marriage Educators

Boaz & Claire have been married for 23 years and have been working together in the same law practice for more than 10 years

Marriage educators and Master Trainers in the marriage education program known as the Prevention and Relationship Education Program (PREP ®). More on PREP below.

In the very first PREP course they attended in 2000 at a scenic golf resort in Malaysia, they were amazed at how an issue which they had been arguing about for the past 3 years, was resolved in just 1 weekend. That was what got them sold on PREP!

Boaz & Claire felt the research and skills they learnt, were too important not to share. So, they celebrated their 10th year anniversary by flying up to the States to be qualified as PREP trainers. They have since facilitated PREP to more than 300 couples to date.

What is PREP?

The PREP approach is a scientifically-based and empirically-tested method of teaching relationship education. It is based on over 30 years of research in the field of relationship health, with much of the research conducted at the University of Denver, and sponsored by the National Institutes of Health.

The key components of PREP are communication, conflict management, commitment, friendship, sensuality, problem-solving, and emotional supportiveness, among others.

Why Choose PREP?

PREP has the benefit of having well-accepted and well-researched key factors on successful marriages which can be applied to all couples.

Easy to understand

PREP breaks down the science behind key factors which make or break a marriage into easy-to-understand principles and techniques which couples can apply with almost instant positive results.

Highly relevant and adaptable to various cultural backgrounds

PREP approach is easily applicable and adaptable to marriages of any culture, based on over 30 years of research in the field of relationship health.

Easy to apply

PREP is designed to help couples maintain high levels of functioning and prevent marital problems from developing. The communication-oriented skills developed by PREP are designed to be used and applied for every life stage of marriage, which couples can adapt to their own unique circumstances.

Based on research on real couples

With more than 150,000 couples having participated in PREP or adaptations of PREP as of June 2013, as well as evaluations have been conducted with the U.S. Army and in Australian and German implementation sites, PREP’s trainings and workshops have been proven to be a trustworthy program.

Effective in implementing positive behavioural change

PREP has relationship assessment tests and activities exercises to help couples troubleshoot relationship issues.

Reliable & Trustworthy

In 1997, The National Registry of Evidence-based Programs and Practices (NREPP) reviewed more than 1,100 programs and only 150 were designated as Model, Effective, or Promising Programs. Currently, there are 145 programs listed. PREP continues to be one of them.
